Adopt-A-Family Program
God's Grace In Action 2006 Adopt-A-Family Annual Report
This year's program was toned back from years past. We didn't receive the demand
from the churches for families and those that did inquire we were able to match
up with families from our local Child Haven. Although we don't service outside zip
codes, you may want to know a good source for families to adopt is the Seattle chapter
of Child Haven. They had families waiting for someone to adopt them. We understand
how frustrating it can be to help someone, only to discover they have two or three
other organizations helping them as well. So since GGIA does not personally do the
screening of potential families, we rely on Child Haven and school counselors to
send us families pre-screened and to the best of their knowledge not receiving from
any other sources. We do have resources available to member churches to help with
screening out those who would abuse giving hearts of our churches. If you would

Select Adoption Options
Below is anonymous list of families that have not yet been "adopted".
For each you will see a description of the family, including number of children,
their ages, and the city in which they live. Here?s what you do next:
- Select one or more of these families by clicking a check-box to the left of the
line on which they appear. There will be a box in which you can enter a donation
amount, whether or not you choose to adopt a family.
Clicking a button at the bottom of the screen will signify your agreement to
provide the amount entered in the donation box, and / or to adopt the family(ies)
you have selected.
- You will receive an email summarizing the commitment you have made, if a donation
amount was entered.
- If you have selected one or more family(ies) to adopt, you will then see a web page
with a list of the families you have agreed to adopt, with boxes for each to enter
the name, and if available, the email address, of the person(s) who have agreed,
through your organization, to adopt each family.
Clicking the "Confirm Adoption" button on this web page will record
your commitment to each family in the GGIA database; generate an email to you confirming,
and thanking you for, the commitment you have just made; and generate an email to
each adopter for whom an email address was entered, thanking them and giving non-confidential
details about the family they have agreed to adopt.
- In that email will be a clickable link to take you back to the website when the
adoption activities are complete, where you will be able to certify that you have
fulfilled your commitment by clicking on a "Confirm?" button. At this
point you will have an opportunity to enter any comments you wish.
